SERU Prep privacy policy
Last updated: 5 November 2026
SERU Prep is a practice app for the TfL SERU assessment, made by Vivek Kartha ("I", "me"). It is an independent app and is not made, approved or endorsed by Transport for London.
What stays on your phone
Your answers, scores, mock test results, saved questions, test date and settings are stored only on your device. I never receive them. Uninstalling the app or using "Reset all progress" deletes them.
What is collected when you buy full access
Payments are handled by Google Play. I never see your card or bank details. To confirm that you have bought full access, the app uses RevenueCat, a service that receives your purchase record from Google Play (product, date, price, order ID) and an anonymous ID created for your installation of the app. This information is used only to unlock and restore your purchase and to handle refunds. It is sent over an encrypted connection.
RevenueCat processes this information on my behalf. You can read its privacy policy at revenuecat.com/privacy. Google's handling of your purchase is covered by Google's privacy policy.
What is not collected
The app has no adverts, no analytics, no account sign-up and no location tracking. It does not sell or share your data with anyone for marketing.
Children
The app is for adults applying for a London private hire driver's licence (minimum age 21). It is not aimed at children.
Delete your data
SERU Prep (developer: Vivek Kartha) has no accounts. To delete your data:
- Progress on your phone (answers, scores, mock tests, saved questions and settings): open the app and go to More → Reset all progress, or uninstall the app. This deletes it straight away. I never hold a copy.
- Purchase record held by RevenueCat: email me with the subject "SERU Prep data deletion" and your Google Play order number. It starts with GPA. and is in your Google Play receipt email.
What is deleted: the RevenueCat customer record linked to your purchase (the anonymous app ID and purchase history), within 30 days of your request. I will confirm by email when it is done.
What is kept: Google keeps its own record of the order, as required for tax and accounting, under Google's privacy policy. Your full access stays linked to your Google account, so "Restore purchase" still works after deletion.
Your rights and contact
Under UK data protection law you can ask what data is held about you and ask for it to be deleted. Email me and I will reply within 30 days.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
